What is Root Canal Treatment?

The purpose of root canal treatment, also known as endodontics, is to remove the inflamed tissue or bacteria inside the root canal and thus allow the surrounding tissues to heal.

The pulp may become inflamed or may die if either there is significant decay in a tooth, if there is a large filling or crown or if the tooth has been subjected to trauma. The inflamed pulp may cause toothache or remain pain-free.

Why choose Highgate Dental Practice for root canal treatment?

Why choose Highgate Dental Practice for root canal treatment?

We are proud to have two specialist endodontists on our team. The root canal system, especially in molars, is often complex and difficult to clean. This is why many general dentists prefer to refer these cases to a specialist such as those on our team. An endodontic specialist will use a surgical microscope during treatment to magnify the tooth.

Our specialist endodontic equipment includes an onsite surgical microscope.

Endodontic Treatment Fees

Due to the enhanced procedures provided and the level of complexity of most of the referred cases, treatment is very time consuming. The following guidelines on fees are given so you can discuss this with your Endodontist.

Endodontic Treatment Consultation £150
Endodontic Treatment From £1050
Endodontic Re-Treatment From £1200

The higher figures in any range would relate to removal of obstructions (composite, silver points, broken instruments etc). Such higher charges will be explained to you during the consultation. Charges include all required intra-oral radiographs.

If you feel that you need assistance with financing your dental treatment book an appointment with our Treatment Coordinator Temi Ojo and find out more about our payment options.
